Paying Taxes
Taxes are due March 1 through October 15. Penalty for late payment of taxes apply October 16. Delinquent personal taxes cannot be paid by check. It is the taxpayer's responsibility to make sure their personal property and real estate taxes are paid on time. Failure to receive a statement does not excuse you from the taxes or the penalties and interest.
Payment for personal and real property taxes by the following methods:

- Effective October 16, 2018 we will no longer accept E-Checks
Online payment is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The self-explanatory step-by-step process is now accepting payment by Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover Credit Cards for taxpayer convenience. A convenience fee is charged by the service provider. Sebastian County does not receive any portion of this fee. Processing of credit/debit cards may take up to 7 days to post to your account. Contact the Fort Smith Collector's Office for any additional assistance needed using the Location information provided on the left pane.
Did you know we accept installment payments?
For current taxes only, you can mail payments for any amount, whenever you want, March 1st thru October 15th. Also, payments can be made at any of our 3 offices by check, cash, debit card, credit card, or money order. Payments of all taxes are due in full by October 15th. This can be a wonderful service rather than waiting to pay a lump sum!

Be sure to include your taxpayer ID number (TPID) which is located above the mailing address on your statement.
