Scammers are impersonating law enforcement officers to steal your money!

Recently, some Sebastian County residents have received a call from someone claiming to be a Sebastian County Sheriff's Deputy. The scammer falsely claimed the resident missed jury duty and needed to pay a fine to avoid penalties.

Fortunately, the resident didn't fall for the scam, but the number was spoofed to appear legitimate.

Remember: Law enforcement will NEVER ask for payment over the phone. They will NEVER ask for payment by gift cards or green dot cards. Protect yourself and your loved ones from these scams. If you receive a suspicious call, hang up.
