BURN BAN LIFTED

(Sebastian County, AR)

Judge David Hudson has lifted the burn ban for Sebastian County. Judge Hudson and the  Emergency Management officials have consulted with weather and fire officials.  Although we did receive the deparately needed rain this week we are still under severe drought conditions and the grass and ground will absorb this rain very quickly.

We ask the public to be extremely careful if they feel the need to burn trash or debris.  Please monitor weather conditions and do not attempt a burn if winds are high and humidty conditions drop.  Please keep a commercially made fire extinguisher close as well as a water hose.  Please try to keep burns within containers such as barrels.  If you decide to burn in the rural areas of the County please remember that all control burns need to be called in to the Sebastian County Sheriff's department beforehand at (479) 783-1051.

Please maintain safe conditions if you do decide to burn and monitor news channels as well as the County website at http://www.sebastiancountyar.gov to hear the latest news on burn bans in Sebastian County.
